The biggest advantage to online courses and distance education learning is flexibility. You can study at your own pace, wherever you are. If you are a parent, working full-time, or live in a rural area, online courses allow you to further your education without upending your life.

Having said that, if you study through an online or distance course you’ll need self-motivation. Arguably, the same is true of any education – the more you put in, the more you get out.

There is such a huge variety of online courses available across Ireland, therefore it would be impossible to do them all justice. In addition, many – if not most – colleges, universities and education providers offer at least some online or distance learning options.
