“Take a Bite” with Paul
Marino College
A series of recipes to get you cooking and tasting dishes from around the world.
Week 1: Italian: Oven Baked Bacon Risotto with chilli flakes and fresh parsley.
Week 2: Thai: Red Thai curry with aromatic jasmine Rice and flat bread.
Week 3: Spanish: Iberian chicken and chickpea bake with mushrooms & cherry tomatoes.
Week 4: Mexican: Chilli beef Rigatoni with paprika and cooling side salsa.
Week 5: Hungarian: Beef stroganoff with oven baked rice pilaff and sour cream & parsley.
Week 6: Asian: Singapore noodles with shrimp & toasted peanuts.
Week 7: Greek: Crispy Moussaka with Greek salad
Week 8: Indian: Chicken Korma with Basmati rice and homemade Naan.
Week 9: French: Pork Blanquette with mushrooms and pomme Dauphinoise.
Week 10: Irish: Class choice E.g., Boxti pancakes, Dubliner Coddle, Gammon steak with Colcannon.
Notes:
- Menu is subject to change according to availability of ingredients. All recipes can be made suitable for vegetarians.
- Students cook in pairs- This is a fantastic way to meet new people & make new friends.
- Please bring along a Tea Towel, sharp paring knife, a cloth and 2 large lunch boxes to bring food home in after.
- Cookery lesson begins at 5.00pm. It is recommended (not obligatory) that students arrive approx 5-10 mins early to collect and weigh ingredients.
- Tidy up at the end of class is essential. The kitchen needs to be left spotlessly clean and everything put back in its correct place. Thank you in anticipation of your cooperation in leaving the room in good order for the next class.
