Pre-University Science
Dunboyne College of Further Education
This one-year course is designed to give students an introduction to the world of science and covers a variety of areas related to the sciences. The mathematics element allows students to bring their levels up to the competence relevant to their intended third level course. Students will also have the option to study other modules along with science to shape their qualification for entry to their desired course or area of employment.

Career Path | Graduates may pursue science certificate or degree courses in TCD, DCU, Maynooth University, UCD, TUD City Campus/Tallaght, UCC, NUIG, Technological University of the Shannon Athlone, Atlantic Technological University Sligo/Letterkenny/St. Angela’s College Sligo, South East Technological University Carlow, Munster Technological University Cork, as well as, other ITs and colleges around the country or in the UK For example, there are up to 21 places in Maynooth University, 30 places in UCD science courses and another 20 places in UCD Agricultural Science courses and 10 places in Trinity in First Year Science for QQI graduates. Graduates can also progress to Physical Education teaching in DCU.
