Pre University Politics, Economics and Social Science

This interdisciplinary course combines the study of Politics, Economics and Social Science and gives an understanding of the interactions between economic, social and political processes.
This course covers how governments, policies and international relations work, learning to understand people and businesses, markets and governments, and how to respond to national and global changes, whilst understanding society, human behaviour and relationships.
Students will have the option of taking a language, Irish, French or Spanish, along with European Studies.
These qualifications can be used to progress to a variety of degree and certificate programmes in a wide range of
Universities.

Career Path | Graduates may pursue a degree in many Universities. Alternatively, students may seek immediate employment in a range of public service bodies or business. There is now a large range of certificates, ordinary and honours degree courses available to graduates on the newly expanded QQI Links Programme. The Pre-University Politics, Economics and Social Science option will allow students to progress to third level colleges and universities like Maynooth University, Trinity, Technological University of the Shannon Athlone, TUD, DCU, Dundalk Institute of Technology. Graduates can also access the 175 places in First Arts in Maynooth University.
