Pre-University Liberal Arts
Dunboyne College of Further Education
This one-year course, similar to our other arts programme, aims to prepare students for entrance into Arts degrees in Irish universities and colleges, as well as preparing students to work in a European environment both in Ireland and
abroad. The Liberal Arts option attributes more of a focus on The Arts, English Literature and European languages.
Students will have the option of taking a language, Irish or Spanish, along with European Studies or can focus on a
more English Literature based course, which will lead to a general studies option.

Career Path | There are now over 175 places in First Arts in Maynooth University, 30 places in UCD as well as numerous places in DCU, Mater Dei, Milltown, UCC, Technological University of the Shannon Athlone, South East Technological University Carlow, NUIG, TUD, St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra, Marino Institute of Education, American College Dublin, Dun Laoghaire IADT, NCAD, and other colleges and universities for students who hold a QQI qualification in General Studies or Language and European Studies. There are also opportunities in education, travel and tourism, European administration, local heritage concerns as well as in the business world through insurance, banking, or international trade.
