Course Description
Practical Course in Botanical Art
Trinity College Dublin
Visual artist and botanical art teacher Mary Dillon offers a two-day practical course in botanical drawing and water colour illustration based in the Trinity Botanic Gardens.
All abilities will be catered for in this course as each participant will receive individual tuition. A botanical drawing session occupies the first part of Day 1 and participants produce preparatory drawings to work from in the water colour course in the afternoon and on Day 2. Plants are sourced in the extensive gardens and glass houses on site and all drawings are done from life.
Mary is a member and founding chairperson of the Irish Society of Botanical Artists and exhibits regularly in Ireland. Mary’s work has been exhibited internationally, most recently in Italy, Germany, Spain, Austria, the UK and the US. Her work was selected for the 16th International Exhibition of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Art and Documentation, Pittsburgh.
Places are strictly limited, so please contact Mary in advance to confirm your participation.
