Higher Executive Officer Programme

The aim of the Higher Executive Officer (HEO) programme is to further participants’ development as middle managers to enable them to manage their own and others’ work to a high standard and thus contribute to the achievement of their organisation’s priorities. The course will cover the key competency areas of managing change, influencing and persuading, staff management, work organisation and performance management. It is designed for staff at Higher Executive Officer (HEO) level in Government Departments, Offices and State Agencies.
Course Content
The Higher Executive Officer course will cover the following areas:
- The role of the middle manager
- Managing people and dealing with performance issues
- The difference between Management and Leadership
- Influencing and persuading skills
- Dealing with conflict
- Managing change and dealing with resistance
This course will be delivered over two days from 9:30am – 4:30pm each day and will include a number of short breaks throughout the day. It will be delivered remotely and facilitated by a subject matter expert.
