Guitar (Intermediate) Course

Tutor: Darren Loughran MMus,
Darren Loughran is an Irish classical guitarist and music teacher from Dublin. Having begun his musical studies at an early age. He started on wind instruments and then progressed to the guitar in his early teens. Darren furthered his studies on the guitar in the Dublin Conservatory of Music, under the tutelage of Alan Grundy and later world renowned guitarist Denis
Azabagic before going on to receive a Masters Degree in performance and musicology in Maynooth University.
Aside from teaching Darren enjoys an active performance career in solo classical guitar recitals in Ireland and abroad.
This course caters for those who have completed the beginner’s course or those who have been playing the guitar for at least one year. Students taking this course must have a knowledge of how to read music or tablature for the guitar, as most of the study material will be presented in either or both these formats.
Students will be given an opportunity to study pieces suitable for guitar examinations and may sit for an examination at the end of term if they so wish.
This is a 24 week course.
