Course Description
Genealogy
Cabinteely Community School
Would you like to learn more about your own genealogy and where your ancestors came from? But perhaps don’t know where to start?
Through this course in Irish Genealogy you will learn how to undertake the research and how to access and use key sources available including the census returns, civil birth, marriages and deaths, church registers, military records, and DNA Genetic Genealogy. No prior knowledge is required, but an ability to use the internet is essential.
This course will be inter-active, and participants will have access to computers to hone their skills in class.
The course will be led by professional genealogists, Frances Gillen and Hilary McDonagh (MAGI), who between them, have over 30 years-experience working in genealogy.
