Overview
This course will provide an introduction to major authors of poetry, drama and prose through close examination of selected texts, chosen from among those prescribed for the Leaving Certificate. The course will be of special interest to teachers and pupils preparing for the examination but the lectures will be directed towards a more general audience as well.

Course Fee | €50 for the entire series, with individual lectures €5 each. There is also a concession rate of €45 (or €4 for individual lectures) available to those retired and over 65s, those on a government pension / payment plan, and the unwaged (including second- and third-level students). This rate also applies to Trinity staff and graduates, and groups of 20 or more. Teachers bringing groups of students are entitled to a free Teacher Pass. |
Course Duration | There will be ten weekly lectures beginning in early October 2024. |
Course Times | The lectures are happening live in Trinity College Dublin. However, they will also be recorded. If you purchased a ticket to a particular lecture, to several lectures, or to the entire series, you will be emailed a link to the video recording of the lecture or lectures as soon as these are available (usually the very next day). The recordings will be available and watchable at any time up until a few weeks after the Evening Lecture series ends. |
