Do you love stories—reading them, telling them, or watching them unfold? Have you ever dreamed of creating your own? If so, this class is your perfect starting point. Taught by award-winning writer Caitríona Daly, it offers practical tools to bring your imagination to life.
In this class, you’ll explore the art of storytelling across various forms, including fiction, non-fiction, playwriting, and poetry. Learn how to develop compelling plots, craft authentic characters, and write engaging dialogue. Train your powers of observation, explore memory and experience, and unlock your unique writing voice.
Each week is designed to build your skills step-by-step:
- Week 1: Show, don’t tell
- Week 2: Plot – Part 1
- Week 3: Plot – Part 2
- Week 4: World-building
- Week 5: Character – Part 1
- Week 6: Character – Part 2
- Week 7: Dialogue
- Week 8: Editing
Through engaging exercises and discussions, you’ll shape your stories and refine your craft. Want feedback? Share your work with the class for supportive reading and commentary. Whether you’re interested in fiction, poetry, drama, or another creative form, this course will guide you every step of the way.
