Secure Software Development Special Purpose Award is designed to give Software
Professionals the skills they need to securely design, develop and assess software systems.
Building on existing software development skills this certificate will provide the learner with cyber security
tools and techniques to enable them to play an essential role in ensuring the software they develop or
assess is secure by design. Mapped closely to a combination of the work roles ‘Software Developer’ and
‘Secure Software Assessor’ as described in the NIST NICE framework, the modules are designed to
enhance existing software development knowledge with the cyber security specific knowledge required for
the roles.
