Course Description

Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin)

Microsoft Ireland and TU Dublin have developed this course as a response to the shortage of Cyber and Enterprise Analyst professionals in Industry. It is intended to provide opportunities for those who might not otherwise have access to a route into a career in the IT sector.

This course provides foundational knowledge in computing across the range of disciplines necessary to be an effective resource in an ICT organisation with a focus on Cyber Security. The learning is equivalent to the first element of the current Level 6, Higher Certificate in Computing (Information systems) providing the basis for ongoing development for a major award in Computing while being an excellent, useful early career focused set of knowledge. It provides a broad-based computing programme to develop students for careers as IS support Associates and Junior Cybersecurity Analysts. The content is delivered in a 21st century IT context using modern virtualisation, cloud, and software tooling.

In addition to the formal module learning, using experiential learning, students will be enrolled on basic certification courses in respect of IS Security (Microsoft) and Cloud (Azure), prepared for the workplace and supported to find a suitable placement.
