This BSc Honours Degree in a new and emerging field of engineering. Energy management is the process of monitoring, controlling, and conserving energy in a building or organisation. The course aims to prepare graduates to meet the current engineering, energy and environmental challenges facing us on a national and international level. The programme will focus on building energy systems, building energy assessment, energy policy, facilities management, renewable technologies, taking account of security of supply, competitiveness of our energy supply and the impact of climate change and CO2 emissions. Advanced entry is offered to those who have completed the level 7 ordinary degree in Electrical Services Engineering or equivalent. The course will be delivered through lectures, assignments and tutorials and consists of taught modules and a 15 ECTS dissertation.
Students will have a keen interest in how things work, energy markets, improving energy efficiency and in problem solving. There is plenty of scope for exercising innovation, creativity and flair in addressing our current energy issues. Green building technology, efficient use of energy and sustainability are all areas that are addressed on the programme.

Entry Requirements | The Level 7 Bachelor of Engineering Technology Ordinary Degree in Electrical Services Engineering (3-years) or equivalent is required before entering the Level 8 BSc in Electrical Services and Energy Management programme (2-year further study part-time) as this is an Advanced Level Entry programme. |

The work invariably involves both office based and site/location activity. Students who graduate through the above route will receive a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Services and Energy Management (NQAI Level 8).
