Designed in association with the Institute of Industrial Engineers the qualification is a one-year part-time learning top-up degree at NFQ Level 7 validated by QQI. It provides key competencies in the area of Industrial Engineering and related subjects. These skills are vital in the effective management and efficient organisation of a multiplicity of national and international organisations. The programme aims to teach participants how to analyse and improve business processes, how to improve productivity, efficiency, profitability (where applicable), how to provide more choice to customers, how to reduce response times and how to improve quality.
Industrial engineers are prime sources of management talent. They make decisions concerning the best use of people, material, equipment, and energy in achieving an organisation’s aims. To accomplish the best use of resources, the industrial engineer systematically collects analyses and arranges factual information to fulfil management’s needs. Entry Requirements | Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering •Holders of Higher Certificate awards in engineering or related cognate disciplines who would be in a position to benefit from the programme. •Holders of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) Diploma qualification in Industrial Engineering with direct experience of industrial engineering. •Mature applicants with qualifications and experience deemed equivalent by the College’s QQI approved ROL and RPEL policies. Minor Awards (Single Modules) •Candidates with NFQ Level 6 qualifications or higher who would be in a position to benefit from and succeed in constituent modules of the programme •Mature applicants with qualifications and experience deemed equivalent by the College’s QQI approved ROL and RPEL policies. |
Career Path | Academic Progression: Learners who satisfactorily complete the B.Eng. in Industrial Engineering in its entirety may be considered eligible to join related Level 8 programmes depending on their particular combination of qualifications and experience and their suitability to the particular programme to which they wish to progress.
