For over a decade The Drawing Studio has been running it’s popular 9-week course The Discipline of Drawing – Bargue’s Cours de Dessin.  The course has benefited artists, designers and students with all levels of drawing experience. The disciplined, process-led course aims to guide students to a deeper, broader vision of drawing. Conscious observation, control of hand, tools and graphic expression will be developed throughout, as well as exposing students to ways of drawing that have been developed over the past six-hundred years.

It was developed by drawing masters Charles Bargue and Jean-Léon Gérôme who was a professor at the École des Beaux-Arts, Paris. It has been used by artists, art academies and industrial art colleges throughout Europe.  Among its beneficiaries were Pablo Picasso and Van Gogh.
