Learn Purchasing And Procurement at Palmerstown Community School Adult Education.

This course is delivered in partnership with the Open College.  This course is a comprehensive introduction to the role of buying and the impact of effective purchasing.  When students sign up they will receive course notes and slides. The course is divided into ten units and each part will have notes supplied.

The course covers topics such as the key terms associated with procurement, Evolution of Purchasing, Specification, the Five Rights, Key components of a contract including the rationale of termination of agreements. It will teach the learner how to use a classification system to rank procurement items in order of importance, how to implement tactical and strategic sourcing and be able to apply relevant criteria for assessment of suppliers and above all to negotiate effectively during all stages of procurement giving due consideration to ethical practices at all times.

There are two parts to the program:
• Assignment worth 40% and a written examination on week 10 worth 60% of the allocated marks.

Purchasing and Procurement QQI Level 6 Course Scheduled over 5 Saturdays from 10 – 4.30pm.  Fee is €350. Starting 10th October 2020
