Open Training College (OTC) have issued a Final Call for Applications for the BA in Contemporary Disability Studies – 3 Year Level 7 degree. The deadline for applications has been extended to 31st October.

Are you working to support people with intellectual disability, either directly or indirectly? If so, why not develop your knowledge and skills in this area? 

BA in Contemporary Disability Studies

OTC has extended the deadline for receiving online applications for the BA in Contemporary Disability Studies degree programme to October 31st, in time for applicants to attend the Informal Interviews/Information on November 3rd, online:

This course is ideally suited for anyone working in disability services who is supporting a person or community of people with intellectual disability, either directly or indirectly, eg. special needs assistants (SNA’s), day service workers, social care leaders, people with an interest in the area and people who have a relevant Level 5 qualification.

Flexible delivery of the course includes many online supports which allow students to work and study at the same time.

Applicants Day:

An Informal Interviews/Information day will be held on November 3rd to provide an opportunity for those who have applied to further discuss their choice of course with the OTC team. It includes an information session and informal interviews for applicants of the BA in Contemporary Disability Studies and will take place by Zoom meeting. No need for anyone to have to travel for this event.

Please note:  For people such as direct support workers wishing to follow the Social Care Worker registration route with CORU, we recommend the BA in Social Care degree:

  • BA in Social Care – 3 years, QQI, Level 7, €4,200 Year 1 tuition fees, Starts Sept. 2022.
