The Open Training College (OTC) is celebrating their 25th anniversary. Since 1992, OTC has delivered educational programmes to the nonprofit, disability as well as community and voluntary sectors.

Early bird discount for two lucky recipients

To commence the celebrations, OTC is also offering an early bird discount to two candidates. The first discount is available for a candidate who applies for a place on one of the accredited courses in Social Care. The second is for a candidate who applies for a place on one of the accredited courses in Management. You need to apply before June 30th, 2017 to be included in the draw.

About the Open Training College

The Open Training College is a third level education institution. They deliver programmes leading to QQI awards at Levels 5-8 on the National Framework of Qualifications. Senior managers, managers and supervisors as well as frontline staff attend their courses. The College is also a member of the Higher Education Colleges Association which comprises most of the major independent colleges in Ireland.

In its 25 year history, the OTC has worked with over 220 organisations operating within nonprofit, disability, community and voluntary sectors. In addition, the College has used this combination of expertise and experience to build a range of consultancy services around customised training solutions.

The OTC is committed to offering staff learning opportunities which are accredited and accessible as well as embody best practice.

In 2010 the OTC won a national AONTAS award for their unique blended supported open learning model. In addition, in 2016 the College won the international IELA eLearning award.

  • BA in Professional Social Care (Disability), 3-years, Level 7
  • Honours BA in Professional Social Care (Disability), 1-year, Level 8
  • Certificate in Applied Management (Non-profit/Human Services), 1-year, Level 6
  • Higher Cert in Applied Management (Non-profit/Human Services), 1-year, Level 6
  • BA in Applied Management (Non-profit/Human Services), 1-year, Level 7

Consultancy Services

The College also supports agencies to explore the movement to online delivery of regulatory learning. They identify key supports and barriers to this delivery method. The most recent addition to OTC’s suite of online courses is Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults.  Individuals or groups can take this course.
