Inspire inclusion: women in the photographic collection of the NLI is an online talk for International Women’s Day 2024 hosted by National Library of Ireland.

The photographic collection of the National Library of Ireland is a treasure trove of images of women in Ireland and of Irish women overseas.

Elizabeth Kirwan, of the NLI will highlight photographic favourites of the women of Ireland since the 1840s

Eizabeth Kirwan, Assistant Keeper at the National Library of Ireland , currently serving on the Board of the National Library of Ireland, and a member of the Equality , Diversity and Inclusion Committee is introduced by the Keeper & Head of Exhibitions, Learning and Programming,  Sinéad McCoole who will set the scene with a short introduction to give the context for today’s talk, discussing Elizabeth’s contribution to inclusion in the collecting, and sourcing donations and the importance of International Women’s Day in the work of the National Library as Ireland’s Memory Keeper.
