In preparation for the 18th Annual FÍS Film Awards, students from the Institute of Art, Design, and Technology are actively rehearsing the production of the awards show in preparation for Wednesday’s livestream from The Helix on 21st February.

This behind-the-scenes effort underscores their commitment to creating a captivating and memorable experience for the awards attendees and viewers. Engaging in all facets of live broadcast production, IADT students are in the process of perfecting each element- from camera work to, to directing, cross checking graphics and lower thirds, and making sure the sound is just right.

Meet the IADT students behind the FÍS Film Awards production.

The National Film School studios are abuzz with energy and creativity as students fine-tune lighting setups, coordinate seamless transitions, and ensure the overall production runs smoothly. Students are working diligently alongside lecturers from the National Film School, specifically David Cooper and Anthony McGuinness.

“It’s magnificent to collaborate with my classmates on a project which encourages young filmmakers to be creative. It is a fantastic opportunity for children to attend a contest awards show for their excellent films, which I would have liked to experience as a young filmmaker”, expresses Maxim Bunea-Jivanescu, FÍS Awards Producer and IADT student.

The live event, which runs annually, offers a unique platform for creativity and recognition for students and teachers who have introduced filmmaking into their classrooms.
