The Department of Creative Arts, Media and Music at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) will launch their annual Fís exhibition at 6pm on Thursday 30th May at the Carrolls Building on campus. The Institute open this invitation to all who wish to attend this celebration of student’s innovative creativity.

This year’s graduate showcase will feature the creative and ground breaking work of students from the BA Creative Media and BA (Hons) Creative Media. The projects and installations being exhibited and screened will represent the diverse creative skills of DkIT students and are of interest to a wide audience.

Curator for Fís 24, JJ Quinlan, Lecturer, Department of Creative Arts, Media and Music, notes, “This exhibition allows students the opportunity to showcase their work to family, friends and industry representatives who will be in attendance at the launch. Its an occasion for the public to step into a world where students’ dedication and creativity reach new heights as they come together for a remarkable occasion. This exhibit showcases the culmination of their hard work, reflecting our students unwavering passion for embracing the limitless possibilities of technology. We would love you to join us on this exciting journey as we witness the exceptional talents of these students, eagerly anticipating the impact they will make as they embark on their professional careers”.

This year the Institute is showcasing a diverse array of projects that highlight the genuine skills of their talented students. Each exhibit offers a unique perspective, providing a glimpse into the innovative minds at work. Some of the fascinating projects on display at Fís 24 include:

Butterfly Effect: A Vision of Our Future which uses augmented reality, immersive audio, and captivating visuals to explore the profound impact of humanity’s choices on our planet’s future.

The Green Scheme: This project uses an interactive website, social media and motion graphics designed specifically for college students. This study aims to enlighten students about the significance of sustainable practices that help the environment and how they can be seamlessly incorporated into daily routines.

Faces of Drogheda: Exploring Diverse Identities: This project is a captivating exploration of diversity through the lens of a camera. It’s a photographic journey into the heart of Drogheda, capturing the unique cultures, subcultures, and identities that make up its vibrant community.
