Why be a fitness professional?
Fitness instructors and personal trainers help their clients to get fit as well as to tone up or lose weight. Personal trainers may also have credentials in areas such as diet, nutrition and physiology. They help clients reach their health and fitness goals as well as offer encouragement, inspiration and motivation.
Specialised trainers concentrate on a particular area of expertise such as weight loss, sports performance, strength training or toning and sculpting.
Qualified fitness instructors and personal trainers must know how to set challenging but achievable goals. They also work with people of all levels of fitness and ability, and must prevent unnecessary injuries.
Generally speaking you don’t need experience to take a fitness instruction course. However, you will need to be physically fit. To succeed you have to have a passion for working with people as well as for fitness.
