DCU Ethics and Privacy Week 2024
In a world where every click and tap leaves a digital footprint, the urgency to navigate the ethical challenges of the digital revolution has never been more apparent. Events like the Cambridge Analytica scandal serve as a powerful reminder, propelling us into a realm where profound considerations surrounding privacy and data protection take center stage. These are interdisciplinary concerns cross-cutting both the social sciences, law, ethics as well as computing, engineering, maths, health and business domains. The challenges we face are as diverse as the fields they touch, demanding a collective effort to unravel the complexities.
Dr Fiachra Ó Brolcháin, Institute of Ethics at DCU, Dr Edoardo Celeste, School of Law and Government at DCU, and Dr Brian Davis, DCU School of Computing at DCU, have organised three free cross-disciplinary lunchtime lectures for DCU Ethics and Privacy Week. These talks will take place online and will bring together a variety of experts to discuss the current issues and concerns in the area of ethics and privacy.
