NUI Certificate in Communication & Group Skills for Managers
The NUI Certificate in Communication & Group Skills for Managers will assist individuals to develop effective leadership, facilitation and communication skills in a work-based environment.
It is suitable for those with no management or supervisory experience, as well as managers who wish to develop their existing skills and knowledge.
The course is comprised of four modules. The first module introduces students to the primary roles of the manager. In addition, students learn practical study skills to help them successfully complete the programme.
Module 2 looks at managing individuals and covers topics such as employee relations, supervision, performance management and motivating people. In Module 3 the focus turns to groups as well as examines the dynamics that make for successful teamwork. This module also looks at how groups contribute to organisational effectiveness. Finally, Module 4 addresses managing the organisation. This involves managing change, developing culture within organisations and the development of and implementation of strategy.
Qualification
The Certificate in Communication and Group Skills for Mangers is a standalone qualification. However when combined with the NUI Certificate in Equality Studies (On Line) and the NUI Certificate in Training and Continuing Education it forms part of the Diploma in Arts for Socially Inclusive Workplaces. This suite of CPD courses provide a comprehensive educational/training package in core skills such as:
