An Cosán offer a range of affordable short and accessible Access courses, with progression options to Further and Higher Education including programmes in early years education and care, community development, leadership, addiction studies and social enterprise.

Who are An Cosán’s programmes for?
The programmes are designed for adult learners. If you are ready to learn, An Cosán offer a practical and accessible alternative to guide you along the path of learning, helping you at every step of your journey. An Cosán’s provision spans the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ), through access education, further education to Level 8 higher education degrees.
- Early school leavers – Did you leave school early, or maybe you just want to learn a new skill? An Cosán’s further education and training programmes will help you take the next step. An Cosán are building a range of post primary courses for learners, helping you prepare for employment or higher education.
- Learners seeking Higher Education options – Through online learning, An Cosán’s students can access a range of higher education options that might not have been possible before. The Programmes are affordable, and you can fit your learning around your own schedule. As a An Cosán learner, you are encouraged to actively engage with your own learning and valuable networking opportunities are available through An Cosán’s learning community.
- Continuous Professional Development – In the Community Education sector, An Cosán know the challenges of developing outheir r skills and competencies with limited time and resources. An Cosán offers a new, creative approach to continuous professional development with its Accredited Higher Education Blended Learning Programmes.
What courses do An Cosán offer?
Higher Education
An Cosán is currently offering a range of third level part time modular programmes validated by IT Carlow under delegated authority from Quality and Qualifications Ireland QQI (formally HETAC). These programmes are developed in the context of community adult education and lifelong learning and are intended for mature students. Entry requirements apply.
Community & Further Education
An Cosán’s model of Transformative Education seeks to ensure that all individuals who attend their programmes reach their full potential as individuals and grow their capacity to take responsibility for social change in their communities, contributing to the eradication of poverty and social injustices
