New data from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) highlights significant regional variations in lifelong learning participation among adults aged 25-69 in Ireland.
The findings, aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 for Quality Education, reveal that lifelong learning engagement rates are highest in Dublin at 59%, followed closely by the Mid-West at 58%, and the South-East at 54%. These regions demonstrate strong commitments to adult education, enhancing access to part-time courses and upskilling opportunities.
Other regions also show promising engagement levels, with the West at 52%, the South-West at 49%, and the Mid-East at 46%. However, regions like the Midlands (43%) and Border area (40%) have room for growth in promoting adult education.
The overall participation underscores the increasing importance of continuous learning in personal and professional development, especially in a dynamic job market.
For those seeking flexible learning options, platforms like Nightcourses.com offer thousands of part-time courses, making it easier than ever for Irish adults to find courses that suit their needs and schedules.
