Yesterday was International Literacy Day, celebrated annually on September 8th, shines a spotlight on the importance of literacy as a fundamental human right and a foundation for lifelong learning.

Since its inception in 1967 by UNESCO, this day has been dedicated to raising awareness about literacy challenges around the globe and the need for collective action to achieve universal literacy.

Literacy empowers individuals, improves communities, and fosters economic growth. It opens doors to education, career opportunities, and social inclusion. Despite significant progress, millions of people worldwide still lack basic reading and writing skills. International Literacy Day reminds us of the transformative power of literacy and the importance of ensuring everyone has access to this essential tool for success.

By supporting literacy initiatives, we can build a brighter future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
