If you haven’t taken a course in Six Sigma before, an introductory course is a good place to start. Introduction To Lean Six Sigma will help participants to understand the key concepts and principles of the programme. You will learn how to apply them to different scenarios to achieve success.
Participants will also become familiar with the key organisational roles and responsibilities of the Lean Six Sigma programme. You will understand at a high level the DMAIC methodology through reviewing case studies.
Level 4 Six Sigma courses provide insight on how to manage quality improvements through reduced costs, creating value, boosting results and gaining satisfied customers. Both small and large enterprises will benefit by applying the methodology, regardless of your sector or industry.
Students of this course will cover the background and history of Six Sigma, the key strategic concepts, people and organisational learning as well as sustainable deployment of these ideas.
Higher levels in Six Sigma include Yellow, Green and Black Belt programmes. The Yellow Belt is along the introductory lines of the programme. This means that students will learn the basic concepts of Lean and Six Sigma. They will learn to conquer identifying waste, streamline processes, improving efficiency and consistency.
Yellow levels balance theoretical and practical learning. They will help you with confidence levels when dealing with process improvement tools. After you’ve mastered this belt, you will be able to move on to the Green Belt.
This course can be split into many different stages including introduction, define, measure, analyse, improve and control. It is also split into theoretical and practical learning to make sure that you have both hands-on experience as well as extensive knowledge on the subject.
Green Belt courses have 5 main objectives including process improvement skills, problem-solving capabilities, knowledge, skills and competencies and versatile, marketable skills.
The final level of Six Sigma is the Black Belt. These courses will cover organisation-wide planning and development, organisational process management and measures, team management, define, measure, analyse, improve, control, design for Six Sigma framework and methodologies.
Six Sigma classes can either take place in a classroom or online. However, there are also courses available that blend the two. The duration of courses varies from one to two days to a number of days spread over the duration of a few months.
