Detecting poor health and supporting people with an intellectual disability in managing their health can be challenging for healthcare professionals. This free three-week online course will explore how to improve health assessments for people with an intellectual disability. Developed by Dr. Eilish Burke from the School of Nursing and Midwifery at TCD, learners will discover best practice techniques for communication and assessment, as well as develop useful and accessible materials.

The course is aimed at healthcare professionals, care providers and others who work with people with an intellectual disability. It has also been accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) for 6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
