Bereavement training is central to The Irish Hospice Foundation’s bereavement programme. They strive to provide accessible, high-quality training for professionals, volunteers and others with an interest in learning more about bereavement.

Workshops

Hosted by the Bereavement Education & Resource Centre at The Irish Hospice Foundation, these workshops focus on a range of topics associated with bereavement, including children and adolescents, suicide and addiction.

Every year roughly 400 people take part in these workshops.

Workshops are suitable for people requiring basic up to intermediate level bereavement theory for professional or volunteer development.

Advanced workshops and masterclasses

In 2009 the Irish Hospice Foundation established a programme of specialist workshops and masterclasses aimed at professionals looking for advanced training and insight on a range of specific issues. Each workshop is led by an international speaker who is a specialist in their field.

Accreditation

Professional accreditation is currently under application with the Irish Association of Social Workers and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.

If you have other accreditation needs please contact the organization. A certificate of participation/attendance at workshops is available on request.

These presenters represent a wide range of bereavement care practitioners from the voluntary and statutory sectors. Download brochure 2019 Workshop Brochure
