St. Nicholas Montessori College Ireland
St. Nicholas Montessori College Ireland is a higher educational institution providing education and social sciences programmes both full time in Dun Laoghaire and through flexible blended learning programmes. The College offers early years and Montessori teacher training and a new B.A. (Hons) Psychology course through full-time and part-time blended learning degree programmes. It is committed to providing access and opportunity to students of all ages and backgrounds. It aims to provide a positive, inclusive atmosphere and environment based on the mutual co-operation of all involved in its activities.
SNMCI degree programmes are accredited by QQI and are recognised by relevant professional bodies including the Qualifications Advisory Board (DCEDIY) and the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI). SNMCI students are able to access SUSI grant funding and the College is a member of the HEA’s disability fund scheme.
The College contends that the principles of respect and empowerment which apply to children’s education must also be applied to adult learners and teachers. Consistent with these values, three working Montessori pre-schools and a primary school are an integral part of the organisation.
St. Nicholas Montessori College promotes Montessori education and is committed to developing Montessori educators of the highest quality, who will serve and support the child within all sectors of the care and education system.
