Beginner WordPress Starter Course (Website training)

The WordPress Starter Course is a great starting point for anyone who would like to learn about WordPress to create their own website or to learn how to keep an existing WordPress site up-to-date.

The WordPress Starter Course will cover how to set up a free WordPress.com account, how to change themes and widgets in the sidebar, upload your own header, how to create and edit posts on your blog and static pages like on a normal website. You will be able to upload photos to your posts and pages, and create galleries and slide shows out of them. You will learn how to create a navigation bar, add internal and external links and how to use categories and tags for navigation and SEO purposes. You will also learn how to change your personal settings, how to use the visual editor, allow or disallow comments, how to fight spam and edit images for the web.

This course is tailored to people who use a computer as a normal user – browsing the internet, checking e-mails and using simple applications such as Word.

This Starter Course is limited to 6 participants and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. The course is priced at €189 per person and there is a 10% early bird discount available, which will bring the price down to €170 for half a day of training and a manual with detailed instructions. If you sign up for the Starter and Advanced course together, you will receive a 15% discount on both courses, sign ups for 3 courses “Starter, Advanced and ‘Build your own site’ Workshop” receive a 20% discount (savings of €126). 

The training facility is 5 minutes walking distance from the green Luas line (Leopardstown Valley stop) and 2 minutes drive from the M50 with free parking.

Please note, all participants will need to bring a laptop that they are familiar with on the day.
